The Village Preschool
Our NAEYC Accreditation
What does accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) mean, exactly? It means that each year, the Village Preschool must follow best practices across multiple areas, all designed to ensure that children and families receive an expert preschool experience. Every five years, NAEYC conducts a site visit, so that they can inspect the classroom and environments, as well as document that the program is meeting expectations in the various disciplines. The Village Preschool's most recent site visit took place in 2010, with stellar results! Here are the scores from that site visit:
Leadership & Management: 100%
The final four domains (curriculum, teaching, community relationships, and physical environment) have a combined average of 90%. We can't wait until the next site visit, so that they can experience our new classroom space in the William Boyd Carriage House, along with our new playground!
