DESCRIPTION:Free Screening Day\nDate: May 22\, 2026\nTime: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM\nLocation: Laughlin Children’s Center\nCost: Free\nMaximum Attendance: 12 participants \nAbout the Event\nIn recognition of Better Speech & Hearing Month\, Laughlin Children’s Center is offering free speech and hearing screenings for children ages 3 and older. Speech-Language Pathologists will conduct brief screenings that assess speech sounds\, receptive and expressive language\, and hearing. \nThese screenings help identify children who may benefit from additional evaluation or support during the preschool and early childhood years. This event also provides an opportunity to re-screen children who were flagged during preschool screenings in the 2025–2026 school year\, as well as children who may not have had access to a screening at their preschool. \nEvent Goals\n\nIdentify children who may benefit from speech or language support during early childhood\nProvide follow-up screenings for children previously flagged during 2025–2026 preschool screenings\nOffer screening opportunities for children who did not receive one through their preschool\n\nTopics Covered\n\nSpeech and language developmental milestones\nTypical communication development\nIndicators that a child may benefit from additional speech\, language\, or hearing testing\n\nQuestions\nFor more information\, contact Amanda at\na.byerly@laughlincenter.org.
