What Is the CARE Workshop?

Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) is an evidence-based approach designed to strengthen relationships between adults and children. It focuses on practical strategies that can be used across home, school, and community settings.

The workshop combines education with active practice, helping participants feel confident using new techniques right away.


Who Should Attend?

CARE is designed for anyone who regularly interacts with children or teens, including:

  • Parents and caregivers
  • Foster and adoptive parents
  • Teachers and educators
  • Daycare providers and preschool staff
  • Healthcare and behavioral health professionals

What You’ll Learn

CARE focuses on simple, proven techniques that help improve behavior and strengthen connections with children.

  • The 3 P’s: Learn how to use Praise, Paraphrase, and Point Out to build positive interactions
  • Effective Commands: Improve cooperation and make it easier for children to follow directions
  • Selective Ignoring: Reduce minor problem behaviors by responding in more effective ways

These strategies are easy to apply and can make an immediate difference in daily interactions.

CARE workshops are also offered on a rolling registration basis. Once we have a group of 6 or more, we will schedule a session that works for you.

Workshop Details

CARE workshops are interactive and designed to be both informative and practical. Participants will learn concepts and immediately practice skills in a supportive environment.

Educators attending the CARE Workshop may be eligible to receive Act 48 hours. Please bring your PPID for record-keeping.
